Humming a known tune, an improvised melody or just a few tones all work well in my experience. Listening to the hum of our voice and feeling its vibration resonate in our bodies is calming and comforting. Let me know how you do with it, Judy!

I love this post and the helpful list of strategies for quickly getting back in tune. Gratitude journals, communing with nature and meditation are all familiar to me, but I never tried humming before. I would actually like to hear more about it. I found myself wondering if humming a known tune was what you had in mind, or humming improvisationally. Perhaps all of the above, whatever works. I am definitely going to try it. I know from personal experience that your other suggestions are powerful and effective.
